Book Sales Table Assistant
We are in need of a friendly, organized volunteer who’s willing to assist the Book Sales Coordinator at the book sales table during the monthly OMS meetings. Primary tasks include talking with people about mushroom books and field guides, processing transactions, and helping to manage the inventory and participate in planning wholesale orders. Although not a requirement, the ability to transport books would be helpful. Time commitment is approximately one hour per month, plus working at the Fall Show. Please contact our Book Sales Coordinator, Brad Blickenstaff, email@example.com if you are interested in finding out more
Membership Table Assistant
We are in need of a friendly, computer savvy volunteer who’s willing to assist at the membership table during the monthly OMS meetings. Primary tasks include providing general information about the club, answering questions, and registering people for OMS membership. Time commitment is one hour per month, plus working at the Fall Show. Please contact our membership chairperson, Eva Van Dyke at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in finding out more.
Field Trip Leaders
We are always in need of field trip leaders. Trip leaders do NOT need to know anything about mushrooms. The leader will work with the field trip coordinator and the identifier for a particular trip. The leader communicates with the registered participants to tell them when and where to meet (usually in the metro area), reminds them of items to bring and helps people buddy up, carpool, etc. Benefits include a guaranteed place on a field trip! The field trip coordinator will also give you preference on another field trip you would like to attend during the year where you are not the leader. Please contact our field trip coordinator, Tamara Hartley, at email@example.com if you are interested in finding out more.
MANY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE FALL SHOW!!!
Have you been to the OMS Fall Show before? If so, you can well imagine how many people are needed to help put on the show! If you have not been to it, consider volunteering for it, and you will get to see everything up close BEFORE the general public is allowed in. You DO NOT need to know anything about mushrooms to help with the show. There is a wide range of assistance needed including: collecting mushrooms the day before the show, help arranging the mushrooms on the tables before the show, putting up signs, bringing food to help sustain other volunteers, staffing the admissions table or other tables as needed, taking down tables and cleaning up after the show. If you would like to volunteer in some capacity, please reach out to our 2017 Fall Show Coordinator, Xuan Sibell at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
