7:30 pm Presentation: Staying Safe in the Outdoors – Woods Safety for Mushroomers.
With the warmer spring weather our thoughts are quickly turning to another season of mushrooming. Soon, we’ll be out to the woods to gather mushrooms. Have you spent all that walking looking down looking for “fungi gold” only to look up and realize you are a bit disoriented? Kent Stuart – a trainer from the Yamhill Search and Rescue Team will be teaching us tips and tricks to not only keep us safe in the woods, but educate us on the best gear to use and the efforts and methodologies used to find those lost in the forests. Find out how to prepare mentally and physically for a safe trip and return, tips and tricks for how not to get lost in the woods and what to do if you ever find yourself lost.
