Yes we are excited to finally return to in-person meetings. To ensure the safety of all of our members as we adapt to a COVID reality, we have implemented some changes;
1) This meeting is open to MEMBERS ONLY and be capped at 85 attendees
2) Properly worn masks are required at all times while indoors
3) Proof of vaccination is required at entry. A picture on your phone will suffice.
First come basis so if you are excited to join, please show up early to guarantee your spot! Your patience and kindness are appreciated as we navigate this happy return. Can’t wait to see your faces soon!
6:30 pm – OMS Mushroom Identification Session
If you have found mushrooms that are in good condition, wrap them in waxed paper, aluminum foil, or a put them in a paper bag and bring them (with a spore print, if possible). Bring your field guide to reference the mushrooms that are on display.

7:30 pm Presentation: Mushrooms of the Oregon Coast
There is an amazing variety of fungi that thrive on Oregon Coast. Join Oregon State Park Ranger Dane Osis for a presentation on the varieties, habitats, and secrets to finding some of the most sought-after mushroom species in North America. The program is beginner friendly and geared toward people just starting out in mushroom foraging.
Speaker: Dane Osis is a Park Ranger for the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department and has worked up and down the Oregon Coast from Brookings to Astoria. For the past 20 years, Dane has led wild mushroom hikes and programs at various parks along the Oregon Coast and has taught mushroom identification classes at Clatsop Community College in Astoria.
