MycoMatch Mobile App

I previously wrote about MycoMatch, the free computer program which is the most complete Pacific Northwest mushroom guide. It has thousands of photos from hundreds of photographers, and thousands of species and species descriptions. It includes a key where you enter multiple mushroom characteristics at once (a synoptic key) instead of working your way through a sequence of binary steps.

Now you can have all of that in your pocket — MycoMatch has released free mobile versions for both the iPhone and Android.

The mobile apps were developed with mycological data by Ian Gibson and Danny Miller, UI design by Danny Miller, Paul Hill and Jeremy Coulson, and code by Paul Hill based on a prototype by Douglas Adler.

MycoMatch continues to be available in PC and macOS versions, which can be more convenient to use in home and office settings. To obtain those versions, see the instructions in my February post MycoMatch Update Available.
