Shopping for Cultivated Mushrooms
Wild mushrooms are available in season at the big grocery stores, but many local Asian stores offer a wide variety of exotic cultivated mushrooms year ’round. We did some comparison shopping and found that most of these items were imported from the far east as individually wrapped packages of 110 to 300 grams. The freshness, quality and cleanliness of these cultivated mushrooms is remarkable. Visit your local Asian grocery store for a fun shopping experience. Pick up some flavorful sauces, some unusual vegetables, perhaps even some very fresh seafood to go with your mushrooms.
