What
is it?
It’s that hilarious annual event: a thanks-giving that we are all
still capable of stuffing ourselves with mushrooms, singing about mushrooms,
viewing gorgeous mushroom images, and enjoying the mushroomers that we
are and have been.

What’s it all about? (Once a Christmas Party, modern merchandizing
and advertising took all the fun out of Just One Too Many December Events.)
Taking a hint from a number of other organizations, we invented ourselves
a Survivor’s Banquet, and scheduled it for our
first meeting in January.
Each bring your own
cup, dish, plate, and eating utensils. If your comestible contains mushrooms,
be sure to name the mushrooms with a sign.
-
Who all will bring slides and photos of mushrooms and mushroomers?
-
Who will come costumed as their favorite fungus?
- Who
all will put recipe cards with the dish brought for our enjoyment?
-
Who will come early to help set up the tables?
- Who
can bring tablecloths?
- Who
will organize the raffle and the door prizes?
- Who
will bring table decorations, either historical or tempus fugit?
-
Who will lead the mushroom sing-along? (Song-sheets will be provided)
- Who
all will regale us: mushroom experiences in rhymes, haiku, or tall tales?
- Who
will help Kathy schlep in the Historical Scrapbooks of the Society?
- Who
all will bring digital cameras to record the antics of the event?
-
Who will bring friends, new folks, kids, grandparents and other relatives?
- Who
all will sit with new folks as well as old friends?
That’s just
PART of what the Survivors’ Banquet is. Come find out the rest!
If your comestibles are a dessert, don’t forget the chocolate!
