OMS Library & Book Sales

OMS is the oldest mycological society in the west. Begun in 1949 by Lynn D. Carson in collaboration with Dr. Alexander Smith, its early members were serious students of mycology, and the library's holdings reflect that.

Housed at the home of Judy Roger, and catalogued by Judy and Maggie Rogers, both librarians, it's the richest source of mycological books and journals in Portland. Members may make arrangements with Judy Roger to browse the collection, or telephone requests by author and title and she'll bring them to meetings.

Membership brings benefits: discounts on the widest selection of mushroom books in Portland. Even more than Powell's Books! Maggie Rogers, Book Sales, offers cookbooks, monographs, field guides and other rich print resources at nearly every meeting. Also available: Fungal Cave Books, "formerly owned mushroom books."
